'Beyond the Wire' is part of a series exploring the desire to move beyond conventions, expectations, and imposed limitations. In this sense, the work becomes an act of disobedience—a gesture of rebellion against containment.
The wire serves as a metaphor for the boundaries that confine us, both externally and internally. Against this sense of restriction, the painting seeks freedom through gesture and movement. In this small oil-on-board work, references… to sky and clouds become a space of possibility, while expressive, unrestrained brushstrokes resist the idea of control.
The tension between containment and freedom, structure and spontaneity is central to the work. The paint is allowed to remain physical and immediate, with each brushstroke contributing to a sense of movement beyond the limits of the frame.
