Whether painting or upcycling, it is always difficult to characterise my work as a whole. What never ceases to surprise people is its versatility. For me, creating is a game that I sometimes wish were more childlike, an endlessly surprising, occasionally painful or frustrating process and the generation of serendipitous events.
I love mixing techniques, styles and colour harmonies, seeing where there is nothing to see, or forcing myself not to see anything.
My way of working is impossible to suppress or repress and has become a kind of „Sof“ trademark. I call it “in all directions”.
This can be understood purely physically, as a work of art that can be viewed from different angles, perceptually and emotionally, and appeals to several of our senses, but it is also a description of my personal way of combining and juggling techniques and themes.
