Toen hij opgroeide in de jaren zestig, leerde Michael Goro al snel hoe hij met tegenstellingen moest leven. Hij begon met het schilderen van propaganda van de overheid en begon zijn zoektocht naar een vrijer artistiek pad zodra de beperkingen werden versoepeld. Goro haalt nu inspiratie uit zijn huidige huis - Chicago, en gebruikt zijn oog voor architectuur en een antropologische geest om interessante, zorgvuldig gechoreografeerde visuele verhalen te bereiken.
