About the artist
Laure Bury is a contemporary British painter based in Devon, known for her vibrant oil paintings of landscapes, seascapes, butterflies, and birds. Her works are part of public and private collections worldwide, and her recent Hummingbird series is now proudly represented by John Lewis. Having lived in France, Spain, and Mexico, Laure brings a rich cultural influence to her work – especially in her use of colour and subject matter. She is also a spiritual healer, and believes each painting is a vessel for healing energy, created to bring light, joy, and love into the spaces they inhabit.
How has your journey with Singulart impacted your career, and what do you value most as a Gold Artist?
I joined Singulart just before the pandemic, and honestly, it has kept me wonderfully busy ever since – I’ve sold nearly 60 paintings through the platform! What I value most as a Singulart artist, is having access to a mentor who can guide me and offer support when I need it. I also really appreciate the Gallery connect feature. One of the gallery owners in Paris gave me incredibly thoughtful feedback. They suggested reaching out to health spas and wellness centres, where the spiritual aspect of my work might resonate. They also encouraged me to work on a larger scale, which was really exciting. I’ve since started a 120 x 90 cm painting and recently finished a commission for an even larger piece.
What has been your most exciting or memorable sale?

Just recently, a client in Switzerland purchased four of my paintings. That kind of support – from someone who really connects with my work – means so much. It felt like a strong and meaningful connection with the client.
How has Singulart helped you connect with collectors internationally? Are there any markets you’d like to reach next?
Thanks to Singulart, my paintings are now in private collections in 13 countries, mostly across Europe and the Americas. I’d really love to reach the Asian market next.
What advice would you give to artists hoping to grow their online presence and sales?
My advice would be to work hard and be consistent. Keep developing your own style and keep painting, even when sales are slow. Sometimes you just have to trust the process – you never know what’s around the corner, it could be your best sale yet, or another fantastic opportunity.
Can you share a short story behind one of your pieces?

When I was at art college, I created an installation piece inspired by Cuba. It included dilapidated walls, Fidel Castro flags, a painting of Guantanamo Bay with barbed wires, a box of cigars and a gramophone playing Cuban salsa. I also created a large turquoise painting of butterflies, which became central to the story.
The butterflies represented the human spirit and transformation. At the time, many Cubans were risking everything to escape to the United States. I imagined that, even in death, their spirits would return to the warmth, colour, and camaraderie of their beautiful Caribbean island.
That painting was a success at our summer show and helped me get picked up by a local gallery. This gave me the confidence to develop a collection of butterfly paintings which were exhibited and sold in many art galleries across the country and abroad.
Can you share a short story about an artwork you own?
During the pandemic, there was an Artist Support Pledge to help support artists. The idea was to encourage artists to purchase from each other to keep us all in business during this difficult time. I purchased a portrait of Clive Myrie by Nigel Mason, and I absolutely love it. Everyone who visits my home comments on it. It’s a special piece to me – it inspires me, especially because one of my dreams is to become an excellent portrait painter myself someday.

With her unique blend of vibrant colour, spiritual energy, and emotional depth, Laure continues to captivate art lovers around the world – all while staying true to her vision.
