The painter Liat Grayver, born in Israel in 1986, graduated from the Art Academy in Leipzig in 2015 and now lives in Berlin. Her academic education was complemented by an Erasmus degree at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Naples and a degree in printmaking at the Art Student League in New York. She attended the Shiboku Japanese Calligraphy Studio in Haifa and studied at the Jerusalem Studio School of Painting and Drawing. Since 2016, the artist has been working with the University of Konstanz on the project "e-David" to investigate different approaches to the integration of robot and computer languages into the processes of painting.
Painting as a holistic process
Liat Grayver grew up in Israel in a Jewish-Iraqi immigrant family. The exploration of art media, especially painting, has been part of her life since early childhood. The artist uses the creation and generation of visual images as a means of investigating, challenging and processing the diverse culture of art. In her pictures, she explores new ways of perception and communication. Prints, drawings, paintings, photographs and robotic technologies are among the tools that Liat Grayver uses to explore visual information that relates to the digital and machine world.Lire la suite
The robot painting
Working with computer engineers and neuroscientists, Liat Grayver explores new ways of applying color to canvas, as well as computer-aided generation of physical images. Completely free from preconceived rules of "right" or "wrong", the artist uses computers and machines to create new aesthetic images. Liat Grayvers works have been displayed internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions in galleries, in art fairs and in museums throughout Germany, Israel, Switzerland and South Korea.
