제 작품은 형식적이고 질감적인 특성을 통해 시청자에게 혼란과 흥미를 동시에 선사하며, 시청자가 기존 가정을 뒤집고, 더 가까이 다가가, 새로운 방식으로 렌더링을 고려하도록 유도합니다.
저는 조각처럼 보이는 평면 작품과, 처음에는 사진이나 디지털 조작으로 오인될 수 있는 손으로 그린 형태를 통해 예술 제작의 관습에 도전합니다. 하지만 제 의도는 속이는 것이 아닙니다. 오히려 피상적인 분석으로 점철된 이 시대에 오랜 시간 동안의 사색을 환영합니다. 관람객은 거친 돌과 매끄러운 살결 사이의 모순을 자아 또는 타인과의 관계를 상징하는 것으로 느낄 수도 있고, 재현과 추상 사이의 긴장감을 선호할 수도 있습니다. 삭막하고 알 수 없는 형태와 상상 속 풍경이라는 안식처를 모두 포함하는 작품입니다. 사회적, 젠더적 구성이나 동시대적 맥락에서 자유로운 제 작품은 시간을 초월하여 의식을 고조시키고자 합니다.
