제 인생의 여정은 교육학 학위를 취득하고 교육계에 취업하는 것으로 이어졌습니다. 어린 시절 삼촌의 작업실에서 키워온 예술에 대한 열정은 취미에서 전문적인 활동으로 전환되었습니다. 저는 독학으로 그림을 배우고, 베르가모에 있는 카라라 미술 아카데미에서 고급 과정을 수강하고, 거장 엘리오 마페이스의 작업실에서 기법을 연마하며 꾸준히 그림을 그려왔습니다.
예술은 눈에 보이는 것을 만들어내는 것이 아니라, 항상 보이지 않는 것을 보이게 만든다고들 합니다. 넓고 넉넉한 붓놀림, 그리고 마치 무작위처럼 보이는 붓놀림은 제가 캔버스에 생동감 있게 그려내고자 하는 얼굴들의 배경이 됩니다. 마치 감정에 생명을 불어넣으려는 듯 말이죠. 제 모든 작품은 결코 의도된 것이 아니라, 제 내면의 감정과 캔버스에 드러나는 것 사이의 끊임없는 상호작용의 결과입니다. 끊임없는 대화 속에서 감정은 성장하고 진화하며 형태와 색을 부여합니다.
