마르쿠스 라이터는 빈 미술 아카데미에서 쌓은 폭넓은 교육을 바탕으로 종이와 캔버스에 회화와 드로잉 작업을 합니다. 주로 과슈, 유화, 아크릴 물감, 흑연, 색연필, 스프레이 페인트를 사용하며, 추상과 구상을 결합한 스타일을 추구합니다. 특히, 생략된 인물, 빈 공간, 심지어 이미지의 일부를 제거하는 등 미완성적인 요소를 특징으로 하는 '논피니토(non-finito)' 기법이 핵심적인 특징입니다. 그의 작품은 변화와 지식 탐구와 같은 심오한 철학적 질문을 반영하며, 관람객이 작품 속에서 자신만의 통찰력과 감정을 발견하도록 이끌어줍니다. 또한, 기존 글이나 이미지를 긁어내고 찢고 다시 쓰는 '팔림프세틀링(palimpsettling)' 기법을 통해 변화와 변형의 과정을 상징적으로 표현하고, 궁극적으로 인류의 진정한 자아를 찾아가는 여정을 은유적으로 나타냅니다.
