예술은 언제나 제 열정이었습니다. 학창 시절 내내 쉬는 시간마다 미술실에서 시간을 보내던 아이였죠. 성인이 된 후에도 예술과 디자인 분야에서 활동하며 결국 인테리어 건축가로 전직했지만, 예술은 언제나 제 삶의 일부였습니다. 제가 살았던 모든 도시에 예술은 함께했고, 그 당시 제가 예술을 위해 얼마나 많은 공간(물리적, 감정적, 정신적 공간)을 할애할 수 있었는지에 따라 다양한 형태로 나타났습니다.
요즘 저는 이른 아침, 세상이 막 깨어나는 오전 6시에서 7시 사이에 그림을 그립니다. 빛이 변하는 모습을 지켜보면서 마음이 가벼워지는 느낌을 받습니다.
2025년에 저는 스티비 어워드에서 '올해의 창작인상'을 수상했습니다. 아마도 창작과 창작 활동을 분리하지 않은 것에 대한 인정이었던 것 같습니다.
제가 살았던 모든 곳은 제게 무언가를 남겼습니다. 이 작품이 자유로운 느낌을 불러일으키길 바랍니다... 한 곳에만 소속될 수 있는 자유, 그리고 끊임없이 자신의 정체성을 만들어갈 수 있는 자유를 말입니다.
