제 작업의 핵심에는 지질학적 기억을 담고 있는 차가운 산업용 타르가 있습니다. 타르는 빛을 흡수하고, 움직임을 느리게 하며, 선명함을 거부하여 시각적 영역에 마찰을 일으킵니다. 오일, 제소, 안료와 결합될 때, 타르는 불투명함과 밝음, 묻힌 것과 드러나는 것 사이의 끊임없는 균형을 만들어냅니다.
이러한 밀도가 높고 흡수성이 뛰어난 표면은 활성 장으로서 작용하여 접촉하는 물질을 붙잡고, 저항하고, 변형시킬 수 있습니다. 각각의 작품은 작용과 반응, 드러내고 감추는 일련의 과정을 통해 진화합니다. 표면은 몸짓, 물질적 사건, 그리고 시간의 변화를 기록하는 아카이브가 됩니다.
