아나톨리 안신은 20년 넘게 일본에 거주해 왔습니다. 그는 근대 이전 일본사 박사 학위를 취득하고 이 분야에 대한 여러 학술 논문과 단행본을 발표했습니다. 또한 일본 검술인 검도를 가르치기도 했습니다. 말년에는 순수 예술 사진을 통해 일본의 자연과 유적지를 사진으로 담는 작업에 착수했습니다.
안신의 사진은 고정관념적인 이국적인 풍경에 얽매이지 않으며, 아무리 아름다워 보이더라도 단순히 일본적인 것들을 포착하는 데 그치지 않습니다. 그의 사진은 현대의 일상생활에서는 흔히 찾아보기 힘들지만, 마음과 정신을 열어둔다면 여전히 접할 수 있는 고대 문화의 영성을 시각화하고 다시금 연결하고자 합니다. 그는 자신의 사진들이 이 풍부하고 의미 있는 문화 유산의 랜드마크가 되기를 바랍니다.
