A Touch of Gold: Abstractions - curated by Juliana Angulo

A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - A compilation of abstract works that are not entirely golden in color, but “touched by gold” in different shades and textures. Throughout history, both the color gold and the actual element have symbolized wealth, light, and spirituality. Sacred icons of the Byzantine period were created entirely in this hue. During the Renaissance, the “Golden Ratio,” also known as the “divine proportion”, a mathematical balance found in nature and art, represented harmony and ideal beauty. The Austrian artist Gustav Klimt employed gold leaf in his works, adding symbolic dimensions to his pieces. This series is an ode to gold and its multi-faceted meaning. Here, energetic and meditative works coexist in a cohesive dialogue united by golden expressions. Both fresh and timeless, they celebrate a color that continues to radiate emotion, introspection, and strength.
