Naive art breaks away from the formalism and sophistication of traditional art and leaves space to a childlike simplicity of execution and visual representation. 

Canonical tools of representation such as perspective and proportions are abandoned to leave space for utter freedom of expression, often done through the use of brilliant saturated colours and floating figures. 

Some of the main exponents of this fluid movement include Henri Rousseau, André Bauchant and Alfred Wallis.
