A curation by Raffaella Nobili, Owner and curator at Paraventi Giapponesi - This curation continues the journey begun with Soglie, exploring another archetype of passage: the bridge. An architectural and symbolic element, the bridge unites what is separate, creating continuity where once there was distance. It is a symbol of transit, dialogue, and transcendence: a path suspended between two banks, between two states of being. Its arch alludes to the human tension toward encounter, the desire to build bonds while facing the risk of uncertainty. Like the Latin root pons – pontis, from which pontifex, "he who bridges," derives, it becomes a means of mediation, a gesture of reconciliation. The selected works depict real and internal bridges, visions of balance and crossing. In each of them, the bridge becomes a metaphor for transit through impervious terrain: a sign of a journey that invites us to overcome obstacles.
