A curation by Raffaella Nobili, Owner and curator at Paraventi Giapponesi - This curation is the first in a trilogy of short insights aimed at exploring perceptual fragmentation, where reality is misaligned, the dimension of an alternative space-time becomes predominant, and the underlying unease is expressed through an escape from reality or overflows from the shadowy, sinister, and out-of-sync tones of some works. Lucid Dream, Glitched Realities, and Nocturnal Uncanny are three paths that explore post-digital aesthetics and unconscious surrealism. In this specific selection, the selected works describe dreamlike atmospheres of suspension pervaded by a sense of perceptual dullness. This sensation is conveyed through soft lines, nuanced and nostalgic pastel colors, and evanescent landscapes that resemble the visual imagery known as dreamcore, an aesthetic exploration hybridized with digital elements that blends the surreal with interior visions.
