A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - This collection follows the mermaid as a vessel for fantasy, longing, and metamorphosis. From luminous reveries to stark, intimate studies, each work treats water as choreography: breath becomes current, hair becomes line, tails become sweeping phrases that spiral, suspend, and release. Seen through a choreographer’s eye, the bodies here trace counterpoint - arched spines against undertow, stillness against surge - so that motion is felt even when a figure is quiet. The aura of mysticism remains central: sirens as guardians, witnesses, or thresholds between worlds. By assembling figurative realism, lyrical abstraction, graphic linework, and sculptural reliefs, the collection stages one dramaturgy - the sea as stage - and lets different visual languages dance the same theme: the fluid self.
