A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - Inspired by Matisse’s Blue Nudes and his ability to suggest volume and form through a chromatic approach, this curation is an ode to the color blue and its capacity to capture emotion. The women portrayed in this series are all bathed in different variations of cobalt, ultramarine, royal, turquoise, navy, and other shades of the spectrum. Their atmospheres are contemplative, dreamy, and fantastical; sometimes melancholic. Styles and aesthetics are diverse, ranging from surreal to minimalist, expressive, symbolic, and realistic. These women are united by a strong presence that embodies female strength and inner confidence: confidence of expression, confidence of thought, and a sense of tranquility in being alone. Among the creators of these works are men as well as multiple women, each providing unique and personal visions of womanhood. This collection is reflective, empowering, and a reminder of the power of color to portray inner worlds.
