Wild brush strokes, saturated colors, figuration bordering on abstraction, these are the characteristics of Fauve art.
In this style, championed by Henri Matisse and André Derain in the early 20th century, we can see the influence of Van Gogh, George Seurat, Paul Cezanne, and Paul Gauguin converge, resulting in a savage expressionism using non-naturalistic colors (often applied directly from the tube), and free-flowing dabs of paint.
In this collection we take you on a walk through the wild woods, dreamy landscapes, and past the poignant portraits from our SINGULART artists inspired by Fauvism!
