A curation by Elisa Pritzker, Owner / Director at Pritzker Studio & Gallery - "PENGUINS: Poetics of Survival" explores the resilience and grace of these iconic birds, whose lives unfold in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Their distinctive forms and social behaviors become metaphors for solidarity, adaptation, and devotion. Beyond their striking silhouettes, penguins embody profound familial commitment. Many species practice monogamy, forming lasting pair bonds that endure across seasons. Their survival depends on extraordinary journeys undertaken to secure nourishment, traversing vast distances across ice and sea. This arduous search for food is matched by the remarkable rhythm of parental care: mothers and fathers alternate roles, one venturing outward to feed while the other remains steadfastly dedicated to protecting and nurturing their young. The exhibition highlights the penguin’s balance of vulnerability and strength, intimacy and perseverance. It invites audiences to reflect not only on ecological fragility but also on the poetry of survival, where devotion and adaptability sustain life against all odds.
