A curation by Vlad Merariu, Curator at Dance Artworks Gallery - This collection reads the ballet class as a theatre of becoming - guided by Degas’s studio gaze yet grounded in the present. The works dwell in the in-betweens: moments of respite between combinations, trials and recalibration. Breath, correction, sweat. Micro-gestures carry motion - a hand releasing the barre, a ribbon retied, a quiet head-tilt counting time. Stillness is charged: weight shifts, tremors of balance, light on rosin dust. Across drawing, painting, photography, and mixed media, technique appears as thought-in-motion; line, épaulement, and axis reform under reflection. An introspective atmosphere - lucid, humane - where practice pauses before performance, and discipline softens into presence as movement gathers to begin again.
