A curation by Rita Cerciello, Founder & Senior Curator at Independent Art Advisory - "My soul is a hidden orchestra; I know not what instruments, what fiddlestrings and harps, drums and tambours I sound and clash inside myself. I only know myself as symphony." — Fernando Pessoa
To speak of Saudade is to enter the "metaphysical hallucinations" of Antonio Tabucchi. It is not a simple nostalgia, but an untranslatable state of being, a moment where the past isn't behind us, but walking beside us like a shadow.
This curation explores the "Anatomy of Melancholy" through the structural fragility of Sophie Pirot, EVIAL, and Marine Walon.
We see the "Disquiet" of Pessoa reflected in the dark, soulful abstracts of Yari Ostovany and Stephanie Visser, and the literal "Addio" (Farewell) of Vito Difilippo. The narrative heart of the collection is found in the poetic fragments of François Pagé, whose long titles act as literary echoes to the visual art.
From the "metaphysical landscapes" of Vladimir Kolosov to the "silent beaches" of Barbara Schauß, these 29 works invite you to get lost in the mist. As Tabucchi believed, memory is not a tomb, but a living dialogue. This is a tribute to the "longing for what never was," and the beauty of the love that remains.
