Screams after Munch - curated by Juliana Angulo

A curation by Juliana Angulo, Art Historian, Curator, and Advisor at FAREX & Singulart - This collection is predominantly composed of artworks representing loud screams. Voices of joy, fear, anger, or exhaustion are embodied through open mouths, great intensity, and exaggerated expressions. Predominantly figurative and symbolic, together with sculptures and conceptual pieces, this powerful gesture is depicted with raw emotion. As a direct reference to Edvard Munch’s “The Scream”, this selection revisits one of the most well-known images of tension and frustration in art history. While the works are stylistically different, with their bold brushstrokes, vibrant colors, and extreme emotion, they reinterpret the masterpiece in a contemporary manner. It is a space where the viewer can almost hear the loudness, and a place where screams are transformed into art.
