A curation by Natalie Slater, Curator at Singulart - This solo curation of Siegbert Hahn’s Phantastischer Realismus (1959–1967) brings together a body of work that constructs a world both internally complete and never fully legible.
Landscapes stretch into unfamiliar terrain. Forms hover between plant, structure, and organism. Scale shifts without warning. What reads as landscape begins to behave like something alive.
Nothing here fully resolves into recognition.
The logic of the image is consistent, but not ours. Forms repeat, mutate, and reappear in altered states, as if the work is building its own set of rules in real time.
Rather than escaping reality, Hahn displaces it — holding onto its structure while quietly undoing its certainty.
