There, where places contain us - curated by Raffaella Nobili

A curation by Raffaella Nobili, Owner and curator at Paraventi Giapponesi - The selected works establish an intimate relationship between the observer and what is observed. The landscape, from a simple, undefined backdrop, enters into active resonance: it is a living, vibrant, and ever-changing presence; it stimulates and participates in the perceptual experience, guiding sentient consciousness from an unspecified exterior to a filtered interior. Space contains man, retains his presence, and becomes a place, establishing a two-way relationship between the parts. The man is not formally visible, but is implicit in the silent gaze, sensitive but willing to listen. Colors and shapes emerge as perceptual sediments, shreds of images that stratify in the passage from observation to memory. The landscapes are not the result of extemporaneous emotions, evanescent like fireflies among the rows of trees in summer, but reveal a cultivated, silent interior time, in which the profound relationship between human beings and lived space is reflected. #innerlandscape, #visualmemory, #absentfigure, #livedspace, #synesthesia, #perceptualhorizon
