For centuries, great minds (including artists) have pondered the possibilities of how our world, our societies, could be in the future. Imagery of world peace, pristine environments, and high-end technologies are often features of utopic conceptions of a “perfect” society. On the other hand, in a dystopian world, one may envision the devastating effects of war, climate change, political tension, or even total societal collapse.
This collection features work depicting both contrasting perspectives, including imaginative, mesmerizing, unexpected, and sometimes terrifying views of future cityscapes. Will our future be positive, balanced, and hopeful, or will we find ourselves amid turmoil and chaos?
