Alessandro Piras is een ervaren kunstenaar uit Italië wiens schilderijen te zien zijn geweest in solo-exposities in Italië en San Marino. Met een professionele achtergrond als illustrator en grafisch ontwerper beschrijft hij zijn kenmerkende stijl als veelzijdig. Via zijn diverse werken viert Piras het leven en de vitaliteit. Hij werkt voornamelijk met acrylverf, olieverf en emailverf op canvas of hout. Zijn werk is onderverdeeld in drie hoofdseries. RUSH omvat schilderijen gewijd aan sport – racepaarden, windhonden, judo, American football – waarin gebaren die dicht bij action painting liggen, pure energie vrijgeven door middel van kleur. BODY OF WATER onderzoekt zwemmen als een ervaring van zweven en vrijheid, een reis door een vloeiende blauwe wereld waar de grens tussen lichaam en water vervaagt. STILL AXIS is de meest contemplatieve serie: bomen verlicht door lichtstralen die een metafoor worden voor de menselijke conditie – de zoektocht naar betekenis, de hoop die door de stilte heen breekt.
