Alex Bras, een opgeleide architect die kunstenaar is geworden, maakt op meesterlijke wijze gebruik van media zoals gebruikt karton, acryl, olieverf op canvas en aquarelpapier. Met surrealistische en figuratieve technieken in haar series onderzoekt ze complexe menselijke ervaringen, waarbij ze inspeelt op de subtiliteiten van emoties en mentale toestanden. Haar emotioneel geladen schilderijen, vaak met zeedieren en menselijke figuren, dienen als een visuele metafoor voor de belastende universaliteit van de menselijke ervaring, die schommelt tussen melancholie en hoop.
