Alua Tebenova is een Kazachstaanse kunstenaar gevestigd in Roemenië wiens schilderijen in beide landen zijn tentoongesteld. Door haar werken probeert ze bepaalde filosofische aspecten te combineren met de symboliek die wordt toegeschreven aan de etnogenese van de nomadische bevolking van Centraal-Azië. Tebenova's artistieke expressie is divers, ze wisselt tussen klassiek realisme en abstract expressionisme, waarbij ze het traditionele met het moderne versmelt.
