Carolyn Mortier, een Frans-Australische schilder gevestigd in Parijs, combineert kunst en wetenschap in haar artistieke benadering. Met olie- en acrylverf op canvas en hout verwerkt ze ook stoffen uit biologische onderzoekslaboratoria. Sinds 2015 heeft ze ‘emotionele repertoires’ ontwikkeld, waarbij ze de pH en temperatuur aanpast om unieke kleurschakeringen te creëren. Zijn fascinatie voor het onzichtbare, gevoed door zijn onderzoeksstudies in Kunsten en Wetenschappen aan de Sorbonne, brengt hem ertoe verborgen emoties te manifesteren door middel van expressieve werken. Zijn creaties stellen onze relatie tot emoties in vraag, waardoor elke compositie een visuele verkenning van het ongrijpbare wordt.
