Constantin Severin is een Roemeense kunstenaar en de theoreticus achter het archetypische expressionisme, een artistieke beweging die door middel van collectieve herinnering het oude en het eeuwige wil verkennen. Severin werkt voornamelijk in oliën en creëert tijdelijke verhaallijnen met culturele, utilitaire en heilige archetypen, samen met het kleurenpalet van de expressionistische meesters. Voor Severin zijn archetypen essentieel voor kunst: ze worden al duizenden jaren gebruikt, hebben een bevoorrechte positie in ons innerlijke leven en wekken een speciale emotionele reactie op bij elk mens.
