« Ik streef ernaar impact en subtiliteit vast te leggen in mijn abstracte schilderijen. Ze zijn licht en dromerig, maar toch geaard. Mijn aanpak is minimalistisch en ik zoek een dynamische spanning tussen ruw en verfijnd. »
David Drain is een Schotse kunstenaar, woonachtig in Zuid-Duitsland, vlakbij de Zwitserse grens en de prachtige kunststad Bazel. Hij exposeert regelmatig in galerieën en op kunstbeurzen in heel Europa en Zwitserland. Het creëren van abstracte kunstwerken is voor David een natuurlijke taal geworden, een manier om zich uit te drukken, een manier om subtiele lagen van betekenis te onthullen, van het mysterie dat besloten ligt in vorm en textuur, lijn en kleur.
