Dmitry Spiros (geb. 1971, Tasjkent) is een schilder die woont en werkt in Cancún, Mexico. Hij is opgeleid in de klassieke schilderkunst en heeft een kenmerkende beeldtaal ontwikkeld, gebaseerd op paletmesstructuren, chromatische spanning en gelaagde oppervlakteconstructie.
Hoewel zijn eerdere werken geworteld waren in het hedendaagse impressionisme – waaronder landschappen en composities waarin licht een centrale rol speelde – richt zijn recente werk zich voornamelijk op de menselijke figuur. Binnen dit oeuvre opereert Spiros vanuit wat hij zelf omschrijft als ornamentaal expressionisme.
In deze benadering is ornament geen decoratieve versiering, maar een structurele kracht. Herhaling, ritmische patronen en fragmentatie worden emotionele architectuur. Gezichten en figuren ontstaan uit dichte schilderkunstige systemen waarin kleur de aanwezigheid organiseert en oppervlaktespanning de anatomische precisie vervangt.
Zijn werken bevinden zich in privécollecties in heel Europa, Japan, Noord-Amerika en daarbuiten.
