Egene Koo is een bekroonde Zuid-Koreaanse kunstenares die haar werk nationaal, maar ook in het Verenigd Koninkrijk, Duitsland, Japan, China en India heeft tentoongesteld. Haar unieke werken kenmerken zich door hybride beelden, geïnspireerd door mensen, dieren en de natuur. Koo is gefascineerd door de menselijke conditie en de Jungiaanse psychologie, die stelt dat de menselijke natuur wordt verkend door middel van mythen en sprookjes. Ze gebruikt de beelden van wezens symbolisch, als representatie van de innerlijke gedachten van het onderwerp.
