« Ik streef ernaar een diepgaand moment te schilderen, een glimp van de tragische of sublieme menselijke ervaring die cultuur, religie en tijd zelf overstijgt. »
Als kind dat opgroeide in een kleine stad in de Verenigde Staten, vond de Amerikaanse kunstenaar Eric Armusik artistieke troost en inspiratie in de schilderijen die hingen in de gotische kerk die hij bezocht. Dit inspireerde zijn buitengewoon gedetailleerde portretseries, met mythologische en religieuze figuren. Hij werkt voornamelijk met het medium olieverf en houtskool, waarbij hij ervoor kiest om rechtstreeks op hout, masoniet en AlumaCorp te schilderen in de stijl van oude meesters zoals Caravaggio.
