Gilles Boyaval, ook bekend als Lemalko, fotograaf en autodidactisch digitaal kunstenaar, haalt inspiratie uit het picturale erfgoed van zijn vader. Hij combineert getransformeerde fotografie met pure creatie door middel van levendige composities, waarbij hij de voorkeur geeft aan geometrische vormen – met name de driehoek – en levendige kleuren. Zijn technische aanpak bestaat uit het anarchistisch deconstrueren van het beeld om creativiteit te ontketenen. Met zijn imperfecte en soms provocerende werk roept hij eerst vragen op, dan rauwe emotie, waardoor de kijker een intense zintuiglijke ervaring krijgt.
