Jeong Yongtae, afkomstig uit het artistieke Tongyeong, combineert westerse schilderkunst met Koreaanse najeonchilgi-technieken. In een unieke fusie brengt hij parelmoer nauwgezet aan met natuurlijke lak, wat resulteert in een iriserend verhaal dat veranderlijk glinstert. Zijn werk vat de tedere gevoelens van het Koreaanse leven samen en nodigt uit tot harmonieuze contemplatie door middel van een symbolische abstractie van traditie en menselijke ervaring.
