Kristaps Priede is een bekroonde schilder en beeldhouwer uit Letland wiens werken nationaal, in China, het Verenigd Koninkrijk en Zwitserland zijn tentoongesteld. Door zijn artistieke praktijk onderzoekt hij de centrale thema's van menselijke spirituele vrijheid en geloof. Daarnaast is Priede gefascineerd door de geschiedenis van specifieke plekken, maar ook door levensverhalen, gebeurtenissen en architectuur. Hij maakt het vaakst met acryl en olieverf op canvas.
