Ik heb altijd van schilderen gehouden, maar mijn opleiding en mijn professionele loopbaan leidden ertoe dat ik 42 jaar lesgaf. Toen ik kunstdocent werd, voelde ik mij gelegitimeerd om mezelf als schilder te beschouwen en op zoek te gaan naar mijn artistieke identiteit. Ik begon met exposeren in lokale galerieën en later in nationale galerieën. Door de positieve feedback breidde ik mijn werk uit naar internationale contexten, zoals de Luxembourg Art Prize en de MEAM in Barcelona. Ik schilder vrouwen vaak af als hoofdpersonen die hun positiviteit en moed kunnen tonen, zelfs in moeilijke en dramatische situaties. Ik word aangetrokken door de wonderen van de natuur in al haar aspecten. In mijn werk combineer ik vaak acrylverf met stoffen door middel van collages. Het was de ontdekking van het werk van Mickalene Thomas die mij inspireerde om met dit pad te experimenteren. De stof verrijkt wat ik me voorstel. De texturen, de garens, de verschillende consistenties en de prachtige kleuren hebben mijn palet getransformeerd en verrijkt.
