Margaret Ashman is een getalenteerde Britse fotograaf wiens werken te zien zijn geweest in prijzen en tentoonstellingen in het hele VK. Haar belangrijkste thema's zijn gebarentaal, religie, spiritualiteit en emotie, en terugkerende beelden zijn onder meer handen en menselijke bewegingen. Ze gebruikt verschillende materialen om naast haar fotografie te gebruiken, waaronder stoffen, behang en boeken, en wordt vooral beïnvloed door Chisato Minamimura, een Japanse danser die geïmproviseerde routines voor doven uitvoerde. Ashman's werken lijken gevoelig, dromerig en vrij.
