Meinrad Hoyer, geboren in Karlsruhe in 1965, begon al vroeg aan zijn artistieke ontwikkeling. Door intensieve, zelfstudie van kunstgeschiedenis ontwikkelde hij een kenmerkende beeldtaal. Zijn eerste tentoonstelling in een professionele galerie vond plaats in 2000. Hierna volgden talloze presentaties, persaandacht en deelname aan internationale kunstbeurzen, waaronder die in Luxemburg en Keulen. Sinds 2017 is hij vast lid van de Ingrid Renz Galerie. Hoyers schilderijen zijn intuïtief en spontaan en bewegen zich vrijelijk tussen abstractie en figuratie. Kenmerkend zijn een resolute, fysieke penseelstreek en het bewuste gebruik van krassen en materialiteit. Als fervent verzamelaar van hedendaagse kunst brengt Hoyer ook een scherp oog voor de actuele kunst in zijn werk. Zijn schilderijen zijn beïnvloed door onder andere het werk van Francis Bacon, Cy Twombly, Jean-Michel Basquiat en vooral Robert Rauschenberg. www.meinrad-hoyer.de
