Niki Singleton is een kunstenaar gevestigd in Vancouver, Canada en Brooklyn, New York. Haar schilderijen zijn tentoongesteld in Canada, de VS, Nederland en het Verenigd Koninkrijk. Haar werk is tentoongesteld in onder andere het Brooklyn Museum, de Whitney Biënnale, de Betty Campbell Gallery, de Spring/Break Art Show in New York City, de Paul Thiebaud Gallery in San Francisco, het Holocaust Museum in Texas, Imagine IC in Amsterdam en de Pendulum Gallery in Vancouver. Haar werk is gepubliceerd in publicaties zoals Wowwart Magazine, Hudson Art Review, Hyperallergic, Forbes, Queer City Journal, ARTFUSE en Creative Time Reports. Singletons werk is geworteld in culturele geschiedenissen en mythologieën, met een focus op queer en vrouwelijke/feministische identiteit en cultuur. Haar praktijk is een oefening in provocerend vertellen, met een focus op het benadrukken van de scherpe tegenstellingen en kruisende ongelijkheden die ons leven beheersen. Ze combineert traditionele en niet-traditionele media en plaatst uiteenlopende artistieke en historische verwijzingen tegenover elkaar om zo gelaagde verhalen te creëren.
