Paulina Taranek is een opwindende Poolse schilder met internationale bekendheid. Haar schilderijen veranderen in stijl van expressionistisch naar impressionistisch en ze duikt in verhalen over de menselijke ervaring - ervaringen, herinneringen, gewoonten, emoties en omgevingen. De reeks stadsgezichten van Taranek presenteert stedelijke omgevingen ontdaan van hun fotografische nauwkeurigheid, maar komt tot leven door overdreven, verzadigde kleuren om commentaar te geven op urgente hedendaagse kwesties zoals luchtvervuiling.
