« Het landschap is een illusie: als je eenmaal binnen bent, is het weg. Mijn schilderijen zijn ook een illusie, geen bestaande plek, maar een compositie met allerlei landschapselementen. »

Rob van Hoek is een ervaren kunstenaar uit Nederland wiens werk is vertoond in solo- en groepstentoonstellingen internationaal. Na als kind veel kunstmusea te hebben bezocht, nam Van Hoek uiteindelijk een eigen praktijk op zich, waarbij hij landschappen in patchwork-stijl creëerde in olie en koude was op canvas. Zijn schilderijen zitten vol met texturen en complementaire kleurenschema's, waardoor een semi-abstracte kijk op traditionele landschapsschilderkunst ontstaat.
