Stefanos Kouratzis is een bekroonde, in Cyprus gevestigde visuele verhalenverteller: fotograaf, schrijver, curator en artistiek directeur. Met een rijke achtergrond in internationale tentoonstellingen, kunstfotografie, fotojournalistiek en zijn deelname aan de Architectuurbiënnale van Venetië, richt zijn werk zich voornamelijk op zwart-witbeelden.
Hij verwijdert afleidingen om zich te concentreren op de emotionele kern, herinneringen en verborgen verhalen van plaats en tijd. Zijn stijl combineert technische beheersing met een poëtische gevoeligheid, waarbij documentair realisme wordt gecombineerd met evocatief minimalisme.
