Vanessa Jongebloet is een autodidactische hedendaagse schilderes die haar artistieke reis begon met hout, steen, metaal en gevonden voorwerpen. Later volgde ze een opleiding tot decoratieschilder en beheerste ze fresco, trompe l'oeil en andere klassieke technieken. Ze combineert materiaalgedreven experimenten met klassieke methoden en bouwt haar werken op in expressieve lagen met olieverf, hars, inkt, pigmenten en mixed media. Ze balanceert realisme met abstractie en legt een tactiele focus op verweerde, gebarsten oppervlakken. Haar kunstwerken stralen een diep gevoel van aanwezigheid en stille intensiteit uit en nodigen de kijker uit in contemplatieve ruimtes vol herinnering, identiteit en transformatie.
