Vera Bondare is een Letse schilder wiens werken zowel nationaal als in Rusland op grote schaal zijn tentoongesteld. Ze gelooft dat een hedendaagse kunstenaar niet 'vooruit kan gaan' zonder het verleden en de wortels van kunst te kennen. Hierdoor combineert Bondare's stijl traditionele technieken met de nieuwe visuele ervaring van haar eigen emoties. Haar werken zijn gemaakt met olieverf op canvas of linnen.
