Vera Fonseka is een in Portugal gevestigde kunstenaar wiens schilderijen op grote schaal nationaal zijn tentoongesteld. Ze beschrijft haar werken als een weergave van het paradoxale bestaan tussen de nauwgezette ingewikkeldheid van de details en de brutaliteit van de iconografie. Fonseka's artistieke proces wordt gekenmerkt door het gebruik van gemengde technieken met lijmen, stoffen, acryl en olieverf op canvas.
