« Als ik schilder, ben ik blij en hoop ik dat anderen ook blij zullen zijn met mijn schilderijen. »
Voordat Ans haar penseel oppakte, was ze modeontwerpster en organiseerde ze modeshows op de Britannia, waarmee ze 48 reizen maakte. In 1980 richtte ze haar eigen modellen-/castingbureau op, dat uitgroeide tot een van de bekendste bureaus in Nederland. Haar expertise als castingdirector leidde tot uitnodigingen voor televisieprogramma's, waar ze haar inzichten in de wereld van film en reclame deelde. In 2002 verkocht Ans haar bureau, nam een lange sabbatical en reisde door Zuid-Afrika. Deze reis markeerde het begin van haar artistieke avontuur. Ans' schilderijen weerspiegelen haar levenservaringen en emoties. Voor Ans is schilderen niet alleen een eindresultaat, maar ook een proces van loslaten en het leven in al zijn facetten omarmen.
