Frank Willems creëert voortdurend evoluerende kunst die urban art, popart en neo-expressionisme combineert. Intuïtief werkend speelt hij met beeldtaal en tekst, waarbij hij humor en ernst, chaos en structuur in balans brengt. Hergebruikt hout vormt de basis van zijn werk en geeft zijn kleurrijke composities vol cartoonachtige figuren, skeletten en dieren een rauw karakter. Nostalgie, herinneringen en maatschappelijke thema's worden omgezet in een beeldtaal die zowel vertrouwd als vervreemdend is. Zijn gebruik van een omgekeerde 'e' en doorgestreepte woorden wekt nieuwsgierigheid op en nodigt uit tot diepere reflectie. Humor, satire en zelfspot staan centraal, terwijl hij de kijker uitdaagt om verder te kijken dan de vrolijke oppervlakte. Steeds vaker integreert hij interactieve elementen, waardoor het publiek en de omgeving het kunstwerk vorm kunnen geven.
