A tribute to Leonard Cohen who stepped out of this world in 2016. Shortly before he finished his last album You Want It Darker. Just like David Bowie did this same year with Lazarus. Cohen sings; “You Want It Darker? We Kill The Flame” in the title track. A swan song on the threshold of its worldly presence. Both men left us with a bang and with a void.
Do Not Disturb is featuring Leonard Cohen and Marianne Faithfull… and suggests a love affair between both artists living and composing at the Chelsea Hotel in their time.
This image is a mix of the notorious sex, drugs and rock status of a Chelsea Hotel (NY) and the abandoned, clean, functional and impersonal traffic space of hotels everywhere. Anonymous places to hibernate in or escape to. You made my heart a garden written on the wall.
